Ingredients (use vegan versions):
- about 6 medium strawberries
- 3/4 large banana
- about 5 ice cubes
- 1 dessert spoon of white vegan sugar (that's how much I use - add to your own taste)
- about 3tablespoon of vegan soymilk (optional, like Vanilla, but virtually any kind will do)
Directions:
Put the ice in the blender first and turn up 2 high until
ice is snow-like and flakey. Add the strawberries and puree
until smooth. Then chop and put the banana in and puree
until smooth as well. (When the mixture is smooth and
creamy, add the soy milk if you have chosen to, it's
optional). Poor into a glass, sit back and enjoy!!!

Ingredients (use vegan versions):
- 2 cups Chocolate vegan soymilk (I like Silk)
- 2 Chocolate vegan frozen tofu "ice cream" bars OR 2 cups vegan chocolate "ice cream"
- 6-12 ice cubes (adjust for thickness preference)
- vegan toppings (optional)
Directions:
Place ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. (Use
more ice cubes if you like it thicker.) Pour into a BIG
glass or a couple of medium-sized ones. Add a nondairy
topping if you're feeling REALLY decadent.
I love a thick shake , so I put mine in the freezer for a
few minutes while I am cleaning up my blender!
Note: If you like a "mocha" style..substitute Mocha Silk
for the chocolate.

Ingredients (use vegan versions):
- unfiltered apple juice (enough to cover blades in blender)
- 1 frozen banana
- frozen blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or cherries (or all of them combined!)
- 2-3 ice cubes
- Spiru-Tein brand high protein energy powder- vanilla flavored
- chunky almond butter - roasted and unsalted
Directions:
If you have a regular blender, put apple juice and banana
in and blend on "grate" until most of banana is smooth.
Then add other fruits and blend again until smooth. Then
throw in ice and blend until smooth. Add 1 scoop of powder
and blend for a second to mix thoroughly. Pour into glass
and add a few spoonfuls of almond butter, and enjoy!
The key to a yummy smoothie is to blend until there are no
chunks, and to make it really cold. The almond butter is a
yummy addition and a good source of calcium and protein and
the good kind of fat (it only has 1 gram of saturated fat
for 2 tablespoons).
I have found these smoothies very filling and a good
breakfast before going on your day. My body thanks me
every time I feed it one of these smoothies, which is once
and sometimes twice a day!
