Vegetable Juicing – Why Everyone Should
Vegetable juicing has much the same benefits as juicing fruit with key differences. It's important to vary your juicing recipe to include a wide range of ingredients. Constantly look for new mixed juicer recipes and try to notice fruits at your local market that you've never tried before. The great thing about juicing is that it people who normally don't like the taste or texture of certain fruits find it much more appealing when it comes in liquid form. But the benefit of juicing vegetable differs in that fruits and fruit juices contain much higher levels of sugar than their vegetable counterparts. Another significant difference is that fruits lack the chlorophyll contained in vegetables.
Chlorophyll provides many health benefits and is a very important compound to promoting the well being of the body. It serves as a cleanser, antiseptic, cell stimulator, cell rejuvenator, and help in the building process of red blood cells. To plants chlorophyll serves key functions. For one it makes the plant green and that's all we care to know really, other than its good for you.
The benefits described earlier are actually the functions of hemoglobin in the blood. Hemoglobin is what carries oxygen in our blood and chlorophyll has such a similar structure many experiments have shown our bodies are able to convert chlorophyll into hemoglobin and that in turn enriches out blood. In fact, consuming sufficient amounts of chlorophyll consistently over an extended period of time has reported numerous health benefits. Among some of the most immediate benefits are increases in blood count, alleviates blood sugar problems, and relieves gastric ulcers on top of the already mentioned benefits of detoxifying and cleansing.
Knowing that chlorophyll is what makes vegetables green, any vegetable contains chlorophyll and more in more green vegetables. But the ultimate richest sources of chlorophyll are from alfalfa, barley grass, chlorella, spirulina and wheatgrass. Depending on where you're from some of these produces may not be readily available. Do your best to vary the ingredients in your juice regularly. Chlorella is especially important as it is high in vitamin B12, something that many vegetarians lack if they are not careful about taking supplements or finding other sources of vitamin B12. It's a vitamin that is found mostly in animal products but is also contained in chlorella. If you can't get a hold of chlorella there are chlorella tablets that many juicers will crush into powder and add to juices. This allows for nutrients to be absorbed into the body most effectively.
